The Southside Massive Urban Gorrilaz are as committed to having fun as we are to winning. We keep a hectic social schedule to ensure the pressures of training and racing are effectively channeled.

The Gorilla Shot

Unique to all of our events is the Gorrila Shot – the team drink. A shooter with plenty of Grrr! the original Gorilla Shot is based on our team colours – red, white and black – but the menu is extended each year just to keep things interesting.

The Golden Gorrila Awards

The Golden Gorrila Awards mark the finale of the dragonboat season for the team. Each July feats of prowess both on and off the water are celebrated and awarded in a glittering, no expense spared ceremony that makes the Oscars look tawdry.
